Pilgrimage
Ozan Munzur, 2010 | MODE Istanbul (Turkey)
Pilgrimage by Ozan Munzur is about the province of Dersim/Tunceli where a total of 18 dams and hydroelectric power plants (HEPP) were planned and two of them were built. When the first one, Uzuncayir damn was completed on the 18th of August 2009, it caused a big flood. The film shows local people waiting helplessly for that flood coming to their most important holly place on Gola Cetu pilgrimage. During this a 13-day long wait, they could nothing but sometimes pray, sometimes cries, sometimes revolt. Produced by Ozan Munzur in 2010. This work is part of Doc Next Network media collection.
