Faster Harder Stronger
Melisa Uneri, 2012 | MODE Istanbul (Turkey)
Faster Harder Stronger is a short documentary about fighting and trying to live up to the expectations of being a man. Melisa Uneri, the maker of the documentary Faster Harder Stronger, was born and raised in Finland, where Turkish and Greek men are often paired with stereotypes such as short-tempered machos and dangerous ladies’ men. Within the framework of the North Aegean Narratives project, Melisa takes a peek into the minds of young men growing up in macho cultures. Rather than trying to question their behavior, she wants to bring forth sincere feelings about sexual desires, cultural pressure and male identity. Produced in 2012 as a part of the intercultural North Aegean Narratives project facilitated by MODE Istanbul and led by Istanbul Digital Culture and Arts Foundation.
