UNBOUNDED: Wildfire in the North Aegean (transcript)
Sena Basoz, 2012 | MODE Istanbul (Turkey)
UNBOUNDED: Wildfire in the North Aegean is a short documentary by Sena Basoz about borders and the quest for restraint over what is difficult to control. North Aegean Turkey and Greece share the same climate and suffer from similar forest fires. People can see the smoke coming from each other’s forest fires in spite of being separated by the border, the Aegean Sea, and the history of conflict between the two countries. In the documentary, people who had direct experience with fire talk about trying to restrain fire and anger. Produced in 2012 as a part of the intercultural North Aegean Narratives project facilitated by MODE Istanbul and led by Istanbul Digital Culture and Arts Foundation.
