Self Portrait. Migration's Biographies
Ariana S. Cota, 2012 | ZEMOS98 (Spain)
The idea arose from a conflict over two issues: the fact that looking back, I have always tried to live where I was born; and throughout my life I have shared the story of loved ones who have been migrants and immigrants. Despite the different contexts strikes me three ideas, which are the central aspects of the work: One, that although the main reason is economic, there is something more; two, that the category ’immigrant’ denotes inequality; and three, that the immigrant experience adds value to the discourse of migration as a positive development in the life of the person.
