Intensive 3-week rehabilitation turns take place at the rehabilitation ward of the Children’s Health Institute. They can be seen as strenuous and painful but it’s not always that way. I used to take part in them myself throughout most of my childhood. What always surprised me was the children’s unusual ability to adapt to the new circumstances. Little patients can find ordinariness in unordinary situations, in an unordinary place. They start fantastic friendships, they fight and make up, fall in love and have children’s weddings organised by nurses whom they call aunts. Ala, Tomek, Wiola and Piotrek take part in one of such turns. Is it only a chance for improving their health?
