Ima Polonija

Michalina Musielak, 2013 | Association of Creative Initiatives ę (Poland)

Israel is a country composed of only immigrants. Polish people were a huge part of them. This was caused by the trauma of world war 2, antisemitism and the discrimination of the Polish Jews in the newly created state. Ima polaniya is a living stereotype of the overprotective mother. It combines all the problems and conflicts that trouble Israel deep inside. Who is Israel's mother? A short documentary film about Ima Polaniya by Michalina Musielak. --------------- Produced by the Association of Creative Initiatives "ę" in 2013, Poland for Remapping Europe, a Doc Next Network project remixing prevailing imaginary of migrants. This work is part of Doc Next Network Media Collection. For more information visit docnextnetwork.org.
