Synopsis: A young underage Afghan migrant flees into Turkey not knowing where to go or what to do next. While preparing for his next journey into Europe, he picks up on kick boxing and starts working out each and every day. He finds refuge at the sports room on the roof top where he currently resides, at the shelter of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers in Istanbul. He practices hard and soft kicks, as into prepare for the next hurdle and struggle awaiting for him. Context: The determination and motivation of the Afghan youth shows how one can be extremely resilient when faced with hardship. A majority of the unaccompanied minor asylum seekers come from Afghanistan a country that has been experiencing war since the last 40 years. Migration is considered as a right of passage for Afghans. When the time comes every young man should try to flee the conflict driven country, however it is not easy. One needs to be extremely resilient and strong to endure the violence along the way. Uses: It can inspire the migrant youth else where in creating their own media content. It can evoke discussion and raise awareness on the migration scene in Turkey.
